Dubai Customs launches the summer training program’s activities for universities and schools’ students

Under the slogan "Our Summer is more joyful", Dubai Customs has launched the summer training program’s activities for universities and schools’ students for the 2016 summer. The program aims at enabling students to apply skills and information in a work environment characterized by positivity and happiness that contribute to the preparation of competent and skilled citizens well qualified for the labor market.

The program is part of Dubai Customs strategy seeking to activate the role of competent citizens, and is also an essential part of the operational plan for the management of human resources in the field of training. Besides, this program is primarily motivated by Dubai Custom’s keenness to allow those students acquire more practical experience that provides them with knowledge and management skills during their education, raise their scientific and practical standards before graduation, and qualifying them to efficiently and confidently get access to the labor market.
”The summer training program is one of the important events in Dubai Customs, being  an annual forum for the exchange of experiences among students, applying  the best practices in the field of training, and preparing the new generation of Emirati employees,” Dr. Shaikha Saeed  Al Ghafri, Acting Director of the DC department of Training Center, said, “This program also gives an opportunity to allow the students to learn the customs work and attend numerous training events, cultural programs, and happiness related-functions.”
Upon their arrival at the DC headquarters, the students were received by Asmaa Ahmad, Senior Manager of the Training Programs Implementation; Abdullah Hassan Al Arah, Senior Manager of Inspectors Training, who delivered a detailed presentation about the program and accompanied the students on an introductory tour of the Customs Training Center and the departments of the main building of Dubai Customs, and handed over the program schedule to all participants.
The 4 week-program includes many functions, cultural events, and recreational competitions where the students will receive training in a number of different departments and customs centers, according to the disciplines of the trainees and the needs of departments. During the program, the students will also be able to identify the work processes in the departments as well as the customer-related service and other assignments relevant to the customs work. Moreover, other training programs aiming at the development of the participants and preparing them for the future will be organized.
