Dubai Customs wins Princess Haya Award for Special Education 2014-2015

 Dubai Customs won Princess Haya Award for the Outstanding Special Needs Supporter/Public Sector Category, which comes in appreciation of the organization‘s acknowledged efforts in the field of Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR).
The event took place at Jawhara Ballroom - Madinat Jumeirah last Thursday the 23rd of April, under the patronage of the consort of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, UAE Vice President and Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai, Princess Haya Bint Al Hussein.
H.E. Eng. Hussain Ibrahim Al Hammadi,  Minister of Education for the UAE handed the Award to Khalil Saqer bin Gharib, Director of Corporate Communication at Dubai Customs with the  presence of government and private sector representatives and the winners of the Award.
Bin Gharib expressed his gratefulness for taking this prestigious Award back to Dubai Customs. He also reiterated that this Award is a token of acknowledgement and appreciation for Dubai Customs’ steadfast efforts in social work and for the vivid initiatives it undertook while targeting all segments of the society with a an exceptional emphasis on people with special needs.
“Dubai Customs is very keen on adopting fair human resources policies and practices aimed at people with special needs, in order to support their full integration in our human resources structure, by satisfying their special requirements and providing every means and facilities needed for their wellbeing and empowerment at the workplace,” said Bin Gharib.
He also added: “We also uphold the nearby future with sheer determination to actively participate in all initiatives geared towards the support of people with special needs, as well as enhance our internal procedures so as to bring the utmost benefit for this category within our organization.”
The Princess Haya Award for Special Education aims to recognize and give credit to excellence in special needs practices with a view to levelling up organizations’ services and performance in dealing with special needs people. It also intends to encourage creativity and excellence in this area and reinforce the role of special needs educators, therapists, management, caregivers and parents.
