The program is designed in cooperation with Abu Dhabi International Centre for Organizational Excellence (ADICOE), a semi-government entity certified to provide training on organizational excellence by the EFQM.

The newly-launched training program aims to hone employees’ technical skills and promote the concept of organizational excellence among them to step up their performance. The program is also expected to reinforce the implementation of world-class standards of excellence, as well as help employees meet the criteria of local excellence awards, namely Dubai Government Excellence Program.

The program, which is part of a complete training project, comprises 9 workshops. Every workshop is designed to tackle one of EFQM Model criteria. It also addresses standards adopted for local organizational excellence awards.
The practical aspects  of the EFQM Excellence Model are highlighted in the program. It involves practical implementation of all nine model criteria, including Leadership; Strategy; People; Partnerships & Resources; Processes, Products and Services; Customer Results; People Results; Society Results and Business Results
Dr. Abdul Wahab Al Madani, Director of Customs Training Center at Dubai Customs, said that the goal of introducing the Organizational Excellence Diploma program is to train DC employees on applying international and local excellence criteria in all work fields.
The program includes a three-day workshop for each criterion of Enablers, and a two-day workshop for each criterion of Results. Such workshops will be conducted through a review of all applied aspects of the content of both main standards and sub-standards, how to formulate and document methodologies, and how to apply such methodologies effectively in all facilities and at all levels.
The program focuses on activating the role of senior leadership with respect to formulating corporate future trends, clarifying and evaluating policy and strategy requirements, and identifying methodologies needed for all work aspects and the techniques necessary for the application of those requirements.
Participants were divided into two groups to be trained during 2014. Lectures shall be conducted by a group of organizational excellence experts, whereas 21 employees concerned with organizational excellence issues from various departments and centers of Dubai Customs (DC corporate excellence leaders) shall be involved in the first course of the program.
After successful completion of the program including all workshops, participants will receive a Certificate of Organizational Excellence Expert Diploma approved by BQF.
Scientific material and technical content of such workshops have been designed by the best local, regional and international experts from Abu Dhabi International Centre for Organizational Excellence (ADICOE), and include all relevant practical and applied issues.
To receive the Organizational Excellence Expert Diploma certification, participants must complete all workshops of the 9 criteria with positive and effective participation, complete assigned homework for each criterion by the instructor on timely basis, and pass the final exam successfully achieving a result not less than 60/100. In addition to the grade that will be granted to the trainee at the end of the program depending on to what extent the trainee meets the required conditions and the percentage of success for each of them. Then, they will be granted the organizational excellence expert certification.
The center evaluates trainees’ knowledge level with respect to all its programs for the first time before enrolling them in any of its courses in order to be able to define the appropriate training program that ensures added value in terms of the corporate performance in general and the individual’s performance in particular. The center also conducts an estimation for the benefit obtained by the trainees and the level of their satisfaction with the training outcomes.
