
Dubai Customs has announced the names of mega draw winners for its smart marketing campaign based on augmented reality technology. The campaign was launched during Dubai Customs participation at GITEX 2013. Winners of the mega draw are Ghada Zaki, first prize winner, Nisheed .P. V, second prize winner, and Pradeep Kumar, third prize winner.
The mega prize contest for the marketing campaign witnessed large crowd participation by GITEX visitors, who were eager to learn about Dubai Customs new services through an augmented reality technology on their phones, by downloading a special application that enables them to browse all information and data related to the new services and the Department’s overall operations in an entertaining way and with fun activities that allow them to win special prizes.
Visitors to Dubai Customs’ booth were able to watch special shows which include visual ads, activities and interactive games through their smart devices. They played the “Touch the Falcons” game, developed as part of Dubai Customs smart campaign, which allowed players to win instant prizes by finding falcons (virtually), as each falcon displays a different message about Dubai Customs work.
The smart marketing campaign was developed to keep pace with the Department’s transformation into the first 100% smart government department, delivering its services to customers 24/7 wherever they are. The campaign was based on an augmented reality technology, through which ads, activities and contests can be browsed by entering a virtual world full of excitement using their smart devices.
