Dubai Customs Takes Part in Dubai Forum for Government Best Practices

As part of its strategies towards efficiently and effectively providing services and contributing to the achievement of a set of developmental objectives for the Emirate of Dubai, Dubai Customs participates in Dubai Forum for Best Government Practices which is organised by Dubai Government Excellence Program between 12-13 November, 2013.    
Through its participation in the Forum, Dubai Customs aims to exchange knowledge with government agencies, departments and corporations and to learn about the latest practices and global trends in areas of excellence and government performance development.
During this Forum, Dubai Customs will feature its latest technical deliverables, including, Risk Engine System which received the DGEP Award of Best Technical Project during its cycle for this year. The Department will also showcase the Virtual Account and Enterprise Connected View projects. Detailed information of these projects will be introduced during the event, including the features of each project, the benefits and positive outcomes which have been achieved so far.
Dubai Customs always seeks to communicate with all government agencies and departments and ensures to exchange experiences and successes that aim at boosting efforts for the protection of the community and support of economic growth. Dubai is a considerable business hub, heavily relied upon by the global trade supply chain. It has the 1st in the Middle East and 9th largest container terminal in the world, with retail sales doubling every 4 years and the exhibition industry doubling every 5 years.
During its participation in the Dubai Forum for Government Best Practices, Dubai Customs is also showcasing the “virtual account” project; a new and innovative choice to facilitate the payment processes of the Department’s clients of various categories who use the CDR account. The new system allows clients to perform their payment processes using a new banking system. The project is among Dubai Customs’ initiatives, aiming at facilitating and upgrading the services offered to clients and saving their time and energy.
Moreover, Dubai Customs will highlight its “Enterprise Connected View” project, aimed at find a unified reliable source comprising all the information to support the business needs dynamics, clarify and connect all the corporate information to help accelerate the business-making process. The project involves creating a website that contains all the needed information for users to review all the contents and corporate plans connectedly.
The benefits of the Enterprise Architecture include improving the coordination between business and technology, the ability to assess changes and their impact on the transformation from the current situation to the future one, simulating operations and procedures to identify areas of needed development and improvement, and assisting in the process of making strategic decisions through the provision of a different aspects perspective of the organisation.
