Dubai Customs honors graduates of talent bank programme for qualifying 2nd & 3rd line managers

As part of its plans aiming at investing in human resources and promoting their job and personal skills, Dubai Customs concluded a training programme qualifying and preparing 2nd and 3rd line managers for future leadership roles by celebrating the graduation of the  first batch of such ambitious programme.
In the presence of Mr. Yousef Al Sahlawi, Senior Director of Corporate Affairs, Ms. Nadia Abdullah Kamali, Acting Executive Director of Human Resources, Finance and Administration Division and a number of customs officials including 14 employees of grade 13 and 15,  Dubai Customs held a ceremony honoring the first batch after having successfully passed the programme different courses were conducted.
At the beginning of the ceremony the attendance watched a presentation highlighting the programme since its launch early in 2012 until last May  during which 10 workshops and training courses dealing with all areas of customs knowledge together with leadership and management skills.
 
In her speech at the ceremony, Ms. Nadia Abdullah Kamali congratulated the graduates on  having successfully passed the programme wishing them every good luck in their future working life for the benefit of Dubai Customs and UAE.
Ms. Kamali underlined Dubai Customs` concern with human resources development for achieving its strategic goals and objectives in respect to  maintain the security and safety of the  society members and support the economy.
“Dubai Customs saves no effort to invest in manpower being the actual capital for development and enhancing its image at regional and international levels”, said Ms. Kamali
“As part these efforts, talent bank programme for qualifying operational leadership was launched, and its courses will continue successively over the upcoming years to include the greatest possible number of the targeted categories”, she added.
“Such concern by Dubai Custom with developing its manpower , comes  in pursuance to the directives of HH Sheikh Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of UAE and Ruler of Dubai on the necessity of promoting and empowering human resources within government departments”, she explained.
“His Highness Sheikh Mohamed affirmed on many occasions that  national human resources are the most important property of UAE underlining that the employee is an organizational asset that should be retained and developed. Ms. Kamali said.
Ms. Kamali praised the support  that His Excellency Ahmed Butti Ahmed, Executive Chairman of Ports, Customs and Free Zone and Director General of Dubai Customs  provides to the training plans and programme directed  towards all categories of employees for promoting their technical and behavioral skills together with his ongoing directives on creating  a business environment encouraging  innovation and creativity.
Ms. Kamali pointed out to Mr. Butti`s directives on launching the talent bank programme for its anticipated positive results whether  in trainees` job capabilities development and improving their skills or for the benefits of the business requirements in general.
“In summary, the programme aims at providing future leaderships capable of encountering current and potential challenges by qualifying the them leadership roles and benefiting from their abilities and skills in business development and improvement”, she said.
“Employees are deemed to be the assets of any organization, and so its position and performance are subject to the power of such assets as the case for  stock markets that is what Dubai Customs appreciates in its effort to be a world-class  administration in all areas of customs business” she maintained.
