Ahmed Butti: I am proud of employees` awards in DGEP
His Excellency Ahmed Butti Ahmed, the Executive Chairman of Ports, Customs and Free Zone Corporation and Director General of Dubai Customs expressed his delight with the 5 awards won by Dubai Customs within Dubai Government Excellence Programme (DGEP).
Mr. Butti underlined Dubai Customs` keenness to provide a business environment encouraging employees to creativity and excellence in such a way that will benefit them, the department and the country in general in pursuance to the vision of HH Sheikh Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum the Vice- President and UAE Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai that “Proactivity and Excellence are for the country and UAE citizen”.
“Our effort to provide a business environment encouraging creativity comes in line with the objective for which DGEP has been founded in respect to develop and promote government sector`s performance through providing moral incentive and inciting work conditions leading to constructive cooperation and disseminating the spirit of competition among government departments.,” said Mr. Butti
“ I am proud of these achievements made by Customs` employees including as well the distinguished technological project of Risk Engine developed by Dubai Customs with the objective of facilitating trade and protecting the society from entry of any prohibited or restricted products. Such system was praised by the World Customs Organization regarding it as one of the best customs systems worldwide. The system enabled Dubai Customs to set a vision satisfying world customs business standards,” he added.
Mr. Butti underlined that the customs business development experienced by Dubai Customs has been made by the team spirit among the Department`s employees and leadership relying upon business systems and mechanisms facilitating clients’` transactional processing saving their time and effort.
Mr. Butti pointed out to the owners of the achievements within DGEP 2012 where Saeed Ahmed Al Tayer, Director of Air Customs Centers Management winner of Distinguished Government Employee Award, Ahmed Sideeq Al Balooshi winner of field distinguished employee award, Majid Abdul Wahid Al Zarooni, winner of the creative employee award, Abdullah Juma Al Dahmani, winner of the unknown soldier award and Risk Engine System winner of the distinguished technological project award.
