Dubai Customs foils a bid to smuggle 90 heroin capsules swallowed inside an Asian passenger’s stomach

A team of Dubai Customs inspectors at Dubai International Airport have successfully foiled a bid to smuggle 858g of pure heroin stuffed in 90 capsules had been swallowed by an Asian passenger before reaching to the UAE with an intention of trafficking to the local use.
 
Ali Amaghawi, Director of Airport Operations at Dubai Customs explained that the Customs inspectors at the gate in (T1) suspected in a passenger from Asian nationality trying to find his way through the crowd of passengers, but the inspection officers were at his arrest and ordered to pass his bags through the X-ray machine. when the suspect  began more confused and perturbed, the baggage were inspected, but nothing unusual was found. Subsequently, the suspect was accompanied to the guts inspection room where the guts inspection detector imaged abnormal objects inside his stomach, evidently, the opioid stuff proved infallible high sense of the inspector.
 

At the Airport Operations Passenger Investigation Office, the halted passenger admitted that the capsules contain opioid powder which later proved to be heroin weighing 858g stuffed in 90 capsules.
 
 As part of cooperation and coordination between Dubai Customs and Dubai Police Anti-Narcotic Department, the halted smuggling passenger along with seizure report with confession statements and information was referred to the Anti-Narcotic Office at Airport (T1) to take necessary actions, accordingly, the passenger immediately admitted to a hospital to extract the object which he had swallowed and consequently, the lab analysis report confirmed that the stuffed powder as pure heroin.
