With a broad public appeal, Dubai Customs concluded its diverse events that were organised at the Mirdif City Centre. This came as part of the many events held by Dubai Customs in celebration of the UAE 41st National Day which took place at the Department main building, customs centres and Mirdif City Centre, between November 26 and December 2, 2012.

Dubai Customs celebrations of the National Day at Mirdif City Centre comprised many family-oriented events, targeting children in particular. They included face painting, Henna drawing, colouring, daily contests and gifts hand-out. They were held at Dubai Customs’ special pavilion at the Central Galleria, which witnessed huge participation by sons and daughters of UAE nationals and Arab and foreign communities who were delighted by the occasion and wished to express their love and loyalty to the UAE. Moreover, visitors enjoyed folklore bands dancing and singing that evolved around the occasion.

In addition, events included the Maze game, which is a contest where participants needed to answer questions about the national identity and other topics while standing on a wooden stage that took the shape of the letters U, A and E. Gifts were handed out to the pavilion visitors everyday throughout the event.
Dubai Customs had inaugurated its celebrations this year by organising 3 lectures for employees on values of loyalty and belonging, motivation to work, and the history of the UAE at the main building, Cargo Village Customs Centre and Airports Operations Department at Dubai International Airport. The main building’s façade was adorned with the UAE flag and the official logo of the National Day celebrations “the Spirit of the Union”. During the main event, Dubai Customs inspectors performed a military parade in front of employees.
At the entrance of the building, a miniature heritage village was installed that encompassed folk kiosks that gave an ample glimpse on the great past of the UAE. UAE popular food were distributed and local handmade products and craft works were displayed. Moreover, sweets were handed out to travellers coming into the country through all Dubai International Airport terminals.
