The “Union Tree” Planted at Dubai Customs’ HQ

In implementation of the “Union Tree” Initiative, launched by UAE Vice President, Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, H.E Ahmed Butti Ahmed, the Executive Chairman of Ports, Customs and Free Zone and Director General of Dubai Customs planted on Sunday, November 18, 2012, the “Union Tree” in the garden adjacent to Dubai Customs Head Quarters Building, Port Rashid, Al Mina Road, accompanied by a number of executive directors and employees as well as children from the department’s Child Care Centre.

The Director General highly valued His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum’s Initiative, saying “it is a symbol of the noble values of the UAE and it underlines the values and achievements of the union realised over four decades by the spirits of loyalty and strong belonging of the UAE people to their country.”

 

 
Ahmad Butti Ahmad added that the symbolic initiative with the tree as its title, underlines the UAE’s keenness on doing whatever possible to secure a healthy environment of the citizens, residents and visitors  of the country and enlarge greenery – an attitude set forth by the founders of the state led by the late Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan. The tree is also a symbol of prosperity and development and it enhances peoples’ loyalty to their countries.
 
The Director General also said that the department is keen on enhancing values of loyalty and belonging of its employees through an array of initiatives and services it offers to them culminated by this noble initiative of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, adding that, as part of this keenness and in line with employees’ desire to interact with the “Union Tree” Initiative, a total of 3000 saplings, in corporation with Dubai Municipality, that will be distributed among all employees to be planted at their homes and other places.
 
He also said that there are other initiatives that are under preparations now to be launched during the celebrations of the UAE 41st National Day which are all related to the “Union Tree.”
