Women’s Committee at Dubai Customs launches 2023 Plan with 30 initiatives and programs




The Women’s Committee at Dubai Customs organized its annual open meeting with 200 female employees from different departments and customs centers. The 2023 Women’s Committee Plan, which comprises 30 programs and initiatives, was announced in the meeting.

Attendants were briefed on the 2022 activities, which included 20 events that targeted female employees, as well as workshops and lectures that targeted 500 female Dubai Customs employees.

 “Empowering women comes first in our plans and strategies at the Committee,” said Maryam Khalifa Al-Shamsi, Head of Women's Committee. “Empowerment will eventually lead to development of skills, positive interaction and communication, productivity and happiness. For this, the Committee spares no efforts to support female employees through several initiatives and plans in line with the Dubai Government social development strategies and Dubai Customs Strategic Plan 2021:2026.”

Al-Shamsi highlighted that female employees play a significant role in the success of the customs sector and sustainable development in general, and maintaining a positive and supportive work environment for female employees is a necessity to boost national economy and prosperity.  
The Women’s Committee 2023 plan will include 30 initiatives and programs such as celebrating the International Women’s Day, the Breast Cancer Campaign, the UAE Women’s Day, forums, trips and local and regional meetings.
