Dubai Customs carries out 57 CSR initiatives in 4 months
The initiatives targeted over 81,000 beneficiaries

Dubai Customs has reinforced its community engagement efforts to continue to create positive social impact. During the first third of this year, it ran 57 corporate social responsibility (CSR) initiatives benefiting more than 81,000 people from different segments of society.

Highly acclaimed by strategic partners from government entities and diplomatic corps, these initiatives were both diverse and inclusive as they covered key CSR areas to which Dubai Customs is committed including environment, health, charity, volunteering, employee welfare, education and awareness.

“Dubai Customs has in place a corporate social responsibility strategy that aims to bring together and engage all stakeholders including our employees, customers and partners to contribute to the well-being of the community,” said Khalil Saqer Bin Gharib, Director of Corporate Communications Department at Dubai Customs. “Each year we carry out a range of community-focused CSR activities and initiatives with far-reaching, sustainable impacts that contribute to and improve our local society.”

Dubai Customs is highly concerned with community development, which is one of its key strategic objectives, side-to-side with its economic and security responsibilities, said Bin Gharib. “Our unique approach to community development targets the integration of community and environmental issues, with the strategic goal of sustainable development. Imparting the values of giving, volunteerism, solidarity and social cohesion to our people and other community members, particularly the youth, is also at the centre of our CSR plans and programs.”

The foregoing holy month of Ramadan was filled with humanitarian and community initiatives introduced by Dubai Customs that targeted 50,000 senior citizens, orphans, needy families, and workers across the UAE.

Dubai Customs’ commitment to community uplift is a fundamental part of its overall business strategy, which incorporates and relies on active participation from all stakeholders. “This CSR strategy has been successful in serving society through creative initiatives that achieved a 92% community happiness in 2021,” explained Bin Gharib.
