Ahmed Butti receives USA Consul

HE Ahmed Butti Ahmed, The Executive Chairman of Ports, Customs and Free Zone and Director General of Dubai Customs received HE Justin Siberell, the USA Consul in Dubai who called on to farewell Dubai Customs Director General on the occasion of the end of his term of duty in UAE.

During the visit Mr. Justin Siberell expressed his profound appreciation for Dubai Customs' applicable business mechanisms and processes, which made Dubai Customs a leading customs administration worldwide in facilitating trade and maintaining its legitimacy together with enhancing Dubai's trade position globally.

On his part, HE Ahmed Butti Ahmed expressed his gratitude for Mr. Justin Siberia’s effort throughout his term of duty in Dubai with respect of strengthening the economic and trade relations between Dubai and USA and wished him the best in his future work.

"Mr. Justin Siberell had an effective role in strengthening cooperation between Dubai Customs and USA Customs, which contributed to increasing mutual visits between the two sides and the exchange of expertise as well as the cooperation in the area of customs training", said Mr. Butti.

During the meeting, Mr. Butti underlined that USA deemed to be one of the most important Dubai's trade partners.
"The direct trade exchanges value with USA rose to AED 61 billion in 2011 representing a growth of 29% as compared to AED 48 billion in 2010," Mr. Butti pointed out.

"USA came on the third place following India and China on the list of the most important countries from which Dubai had its imports last year, which amounted to AED 54 billion representing a share of 8% of Dubai's total imports in that year accounting for AED 658 billion", said Mr. Butti.
