Dubai Customs’ Director General discusses bilateral cooperation with Kazakhstani Consul General

Director General of Dubai Customs, Ahmed Mahboob Musabih received in his office Rawan Zomabick, Consul General of Kazakhstan to Dubai and the Northern Emirates. The two discussed means of boosting cooperation between Kazakhstan and the UAE especially in bilateral trade and customs business.


Musabih applauded the efforts of the diplomatic missions in developing and promoting ties between the two friendly states. He highlighted the importance of bilateral meetings towards a better cooperation and partnership between the two sides so that Dubai Customs can deliver the best services and facilities to Kazakhstani businesses.


“We aim to enable businesses maximize the benefits from our services, “said Musabih “Choosing Dubai as a destination and transit to their goods is a win-win relationship and these efforts will definitely support Dubai in establishing the Dubai Silk Road, which will promote the UAE globally further more.”
“Developing economic partnership between the UAE and Kazakhstan meets with the directives of our wise leadership and the vision of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President, Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai.”


Economic relationship with Kazakhstan is gaining more weight and importance especially with the changes taking place in the international trade and progress taking place in the Chinese Belt and Road Initiative; the global development strategy adopted by the involving infrastructure development and investments in 152 countries and international organizations in Asia, Europe, Africa, the Middle East and the Americas. The UAE, thanks to its advanced infrastructure and modern facilities will be an important element in this massive project.


“Trade with Kazakhstan is growing. It rose from AED 467.8 million in 2016 to more than AED 635 million in 2017, and AE 743.4 million in 2017. In Q1, 2019 trade with Kazakhstan made AED 355.4 million, topped by car spare parts, tires, scanning devices, and cigarettes.”


The two sides discussed plans to organize a meeting for Kazakhstani firms and investors as part of Ertebaat initiative, which Dubai Customs launch with the aim of developing their relationships with the foreign business sector and to promote mutual investment and trade activity with friendly states. 


Consul General Rawan Zomabic thanked Dubai Customs for their vital role in developing trade between the UAE and Kazakhstan through advanced services and customs facilities.
“It is essential we keep this momentum to help develop cooperation towards more activity in bilateral trade, business and investment” he said.
