Dubai Customs’ “Bag of Tolerance” back-to-school initiative brings cheer to 400 students

Within its efforts to enhance social solidarity, Dubai Customs Director General, Dubai Customs distributed 400 school bags to students of Al Sa’ada Primary School under the theme “Bag of Tolerance” in the presence and active participation of Ahmed Mahboob Musabih, Director General of Dubai Customs, the Chinese Consul General to Dubai Li Xuhang and his delegation, Ghaya Sultan Al Muhairi, Director of Dubai Educational Zone, Rafi’a bin Ma’dan, School’s Principal and the teachers. 
The school was decorated with the UAE and Chinese flags.

 

 
 
Dubai Customs’ participation in the event helped the students start the new school year with high morals and happy mood, and helped lift a burden off the shoulders of the parents.


The initiative is organized at the beginning of each school year by Ghayath Volnuteer Team and Corporate Communications Department in Dubai Customs.
“We chose the Chinese Consulate to be the partner in this philanthropic activity thanks to the strong economic ties between the UAE and China; Dubai’s biggest trade partner,” said Ahmed Mahboob Musabih, Director General of Dubai Customs.

“This is part of our commitment towards the community around us and a way to give back to the education sector, which we believe, is the base of our future.”
The initiative is the first of its type at the government departments level in Dubai, and aims to consolidate the concept of volunteering and raise awareness around it.
Ghaya Sultan Al Muhairi, Director of Dubai Educational Zone thanked Dubai Customs and the Chinese Consulate for their kind initiative and support, which comes in fulfilment of the vision of the UAE leadership and the objectives of the Year of Tolerance. 


As part of the event, a number of entertainment activities in Chinese and Arabic took place in a festive ambience. These included an awareness workshop about intellectual property rights and the role played by Dubai Customs in preventing counterfeit items from crossing the border.
