Dubai Customs organizes book fair in support of Arabic Language

In support of Arabic language and as an embodiment of the vision of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President, Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai, Dubai Customs celebrated the International Arabic Language Day on 18 December. Ahmed Mahboob Musabih, Director of Dubai Customs, accompanied by Jamal bin Huwaireb, CEO of the Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum Knowledge Foundation, launched the Book Fair at Dubai Customs building which was organized in cooperation with Qindeel, Printing, Publishing and Distribution. 


The event was attended by Khalil Saqer bin Gharib, Director of Corporate Communication Department, Shuaib Al Suwaidi, Director of Customs Intelligence Department and Ahmed Al Daleel, Head of Coastal Customs Center Management.
Musabih said: “We are happy and proud to celebrate Arabic language and its growing popularity as one of the most prevalent languages Worldwide. The International Arabic Language Day underscores the UAE’s goal to strengthen and preserve Emirati national identity”.

 

 

 
Dubai Customs has organized 8 initiatives and 11 workshops in support of reading and Arabic language during the last few years.
“Arabic was the main language for the Arab Islamic civilisation, which made Arabic the conduit, preserver and originator of an enormous cultural and scientific legacy,” Musabih adds.
