Dubai Customs honors elderly in summer event

August 14, 2018

As part of its initiatives for the Year of Zayed, Dubai Customs in cooperation with the Community Development Authority (CDA) organized a summer event for the elderly at Thukher Social Club in Al Barsha area. This is in keeping with the UAE society’s deep-rooted values of caring and love for older people.

The Corporate Communication Department – CSR section of Dubai Customs took the initiative to bring happiness to the members of the CDA’s elderly-care center. The one-day event included heritage contests, a talk of the good old times, as well as an entertainment show by Modhesh team and distribution of gifts to the elders. They conveyed to them a message of pride and gratitude for all that they have given to our society and wished them good health and wellbeing.
The move stems from Dubai Customs’ longstanding commitment to corporate social responsibility (CSR) and giving back to the community, particularly older people.

Dubai Customs is always keen to play a leading role in Dubai government’s CSR efforts aimed at promoting social solidarity and a sense of giving among a loving, caring and tolerant community.
The cooperation and partnership between Dubai Customs and the Community Development Authority has been one of a kind in this matter and greatly effective at spreading and enhancing those shared values of social responsibility and community engagement.
