Dubai Customs concludes ‘Zayed’s Students’ summer training program

Dubai Customs Training Center concluded its 2018 summer training program “Zayed’s Students” which targeted targeting UAE national school and college students.
Thirty students, including 3 people of determination, were trained and educated on customs work and its role in protecting society, facilitating legitimate trade and enhancing economic growth and prosperity in Dubai.

 


Shaikha Al Ghafri, the Customs Training Center Director, pointed out that the program was themed “Zayed’s Students” in line with the Year of Zayed. It included many lectures about the great achievements of the UAE’s founding father the late Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan to impart the values of loyalty and gratefulness to the nation’s leadership among the participants.


Al Ghafri said the program lasted for 3 weeks and aimed to equip students with on-the-job skills, knowledge and experience and gear them up for a successful career in the customs field or the job market at large.
The participants received practical training on Dubai Customs different core business roles including inspection, customs declarations and operations, claim and refund, tariffs, and customer service.

 



During the graduation ceremony held to recognize the student trainees, the participants thanked Dubai Customs for the opportunity offered by the summer training program, which broadened their knowledge about Customs and helped improve their professional skillsets.
