Dubai Customs kicks off 1st UAE Customs Week with two events

Dubai Customs started the first day of the 1st UAE Customs Week day with two main events. The first was a photo gallery of the Late Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan and the second one was the Zayed Centennial Walkathon following the directives of the wise leadership of dedicating 2018 to be the Year of Zayed.
Director of Dubai Customs Ahmed Mahboob Musabih opened the Sheikh Zayed photo gallery which was organized by Corporate Communication Department in cooperation with National Archives.
Musabih toured the gallery which contained 7 corners that cover different sides of the life and personality of the Founding Father including leadership and wisdom, mercy, knowledge and education, enabling women and the importance of dialogue.
The gallery partitions were creatively designed to form the name “Zayed”.
The photos in the gallery represented different stages of Sheikh Zayed’s life and the essential role he played in founding the UAE and developing it. They also manifest the great character he had and how clever, humble and charismatic he was. These traits helped build a stable and strong country.
Musabih pointed out that the gallery helps in documenting an important phase in the UAE history and raising awareness amongst employees about important details and stages in Sheikh Zayed’s life. “The events of Year of Zayed such as this gallery will help us remember the great deeds of the Founding Father in building and serving the nation,” said Ahmed Mahboob Musabih. “The solid foundation that Sheikh Zayed built has helped us to go on an equal footing with the modern world”. 

 

 

In the second event, the 3-km Al Khawaneej walking track saw scores of employees and executives actively take part in Zayed Centennial Walkathon.
Organizing Zayed Centennial Walkathon in cooperation with Dubai Municipality encourage everyone to make walking a daily practice inspired by the teachings and support that the Late Sheikh Zayed gave to sports. 
The walkathon started at 4pm at Al Khawaneej walking track accompanied by Dubai Police musical band and students from Dubai Scout Mission.
The walkathon was headed by Ahmed Mahboob Musabih, Director of Dubai Customs with the participation of senior executives, managers and employees. Free medical checkups including blood sugar, blood pressure, arthritis, and osteoporosis, plus a number of entertaining activities for kids including face painting and free drawing corner will be available for participants and their families.
At the end of the event, Director of Dubai Customs awarded the participants.
