Dubai Fishermen’s Co-op Association and Dubai Customs discuss the Fishermen Ports Cooperation Agreement
Dubai Customs held a coordination meeting with Dubai Fishermen’s Co-op Association, in order to discuss the fishermen ports cooperation agreement. The meeting was attended by Khalifa Rashid Harib, the fishing ports team leader, Maryam Khalifa Al Shamsi, Senior Manager of Government Partnership at Dubai Customs, and Fatma Al Zaabi, Government Partnership Senior Officer. And on behalf of the Dubai Fishermen Co-op Association, the meeting was attended by Khalid Juma’a Al Falasi, General Director of the Dubai Fishermen Co-op Association, Amal Al Bashar, Head of Administration Affairs Department, and Muna Ali Ahmad, Head of the Shareholding Fishermen.
Khalifa Rashid stressed on the need for precise and abrupt coordination for the signing of the agreement which shall help in supporting the wellbeing of the fishermen community as per the directions and vision of Dubai Customs’ leadership.
On her part, Maryam Khalifa Al Shamsi, advocated the need for cementing the bonds of cooperation and partnership and to be based upon solid foundations. She also reaffirmed Dubai Customs keenness on building the largest cooperation base with all government entities with the aim of leveraging the status of the delivered services to clients’. Khalid Al Falasi as well stated, “We are very keen on providing the best services and facilitations to the fishermen community. We entrust Dubai Customs’ endeavours to help us on this sense, which is interpreted via the DC efforts in providing the fishermen needs at the fishing ports.”
Number of issues were discussed during the meeting, with regard to the services that Dubai Customs committed itself to provide, including: the sailors accommodation, jetties and mooring harbours for the fishing boats, warehouses for the fishing equipment, dry docks and repair shops, sailors’ kitchens as well as fishing equipment shaded repair spaces. At the end of the meeting, Dubai Fishermen Co-op Association delegation expressed their deep gratitude for Dubai Customs with regard to its genuine efforts in helping the fishermen community.
