Dubai Customs and Emirates Authority for Standardization explore mechanism for control of imported drinking water  

A meeting between Dubai Customs and Emirates Authority for Standardization & Metrology (ESMA) took place in the DC main building to discuss the Cabinet Decree no. (26/2013) concerning control of drinking water.
From DC, Mohammed Al Muaini, Director of Customs Tariff & Origin Department, Hala Al Yousfi, Manager of Customs Tariff Section, Saif Al Mehairi, Manager of Customs Procedures Section, Shaima Yaqoub, Customs Procedure Assistant Officer, Suhair Al Mutawa, Government Partnership Officer, and Fatima Al Zaabi, Government Partnership Senior Officer, all attended the meeting. On the other hand, the ESMA delegation included Yousef Al Marzouqi, Head of International Conformity, Sarah Ahli, Standardization Researcher, and Bassem Al Zair, Conformity Engineer.

Meeting attendees discussed the Cabinet Decree no. (26/2013) concerning control of drinking water, the mechanism of its implementation in Customs operations and the mechanism of referring consignments of imported water to ESMA.
Mrs Hala Al Yousfi suggested to move forward with the project of establishing an e-Link between DC and ESMA, aimed at expediting processes and the releasing of inbound consignments, particularly perishable goods.
Yousef Al Marzouqi said: “We are in the process of setting a proper mechanism for establishing an e-Link between DC and ESMA and creating a ground for joint coordination between the two sides”.
