‘Your Children are Our Children’ IinitiativeThe Human Resources Department starts enrolment for the second batch

In today's competitive global market environment, an organization’s biggest investment and primary assets are its human capital. Believing in this and in an effort to ensure employees are motivated and happy, the Human Resources Department at Dubai Customs has opened registration for the second batch of ‘Your Children are Our Children’ initiative, which serves to steer promising young talent in the best way.
It is worth mentioning that the ‘Your Children are Our Children’ initiative, that was launched earlier by the Human Resources Department was well received by the  Dubai Customs employees, where the assessment team assessed a turnout of  26 students. who wished to learn about their preferences and skills.
The initiative is aimed at empowering the employees’ children by helping them recognise and gain confidence in their personal abilities. This will help high school graduates to take up an academic major that best suits them, and university graduates to pursue a career path that best fits their qualifications and personality.
The assessment test is partially designed using the psychology-based codes of John Holland, an American psychologist best known as the creator of the career development model, to find out the personal characteristics of applicants and later determine the careers and college majors that fit them best.
The Executive Director of the HR, Finance and Administration Division Ahmed Al Falasi said, “We are pleased to embrace and nurture young talent. We are always eager to unveil new initiatives that ensure employees’ convenience at the workplace.  The ‘Your Children are Our Children’ initiative is in line with the vision of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, in respect of ensuring the happiness of all employees and the larger community.”
Parents expressed their admiration for the initiative by the following comments:
"I registered my son in this initiative and he has benefited greatly from the results of the assessment through the feedback given by you, and he has chosen his choice of specialization according to the results." "It is our pleasure to thank you for your efforts and attention towards employees."
Participants also expressed their positive views  as represented in the following terms:
"I have benefited a lot from self-discovery, especially my points of strength and weakness" . "This assessment has not just enhanced self-awareness, but helped to build and strengthen confidence in myself",  "the assessment was very useful, especially for my future career”.
