Dubai Customs Training Center Runs a Training Course on Positive Energy for the Disabled

In line with the vision of the Crown Prince of Dubai and Chairman of Dubai Executive Council HH Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, aiming to make Dubai a disability-friendly city in 2020, Dubai Customs Training Center ran a training course on “Positive Energy for the Disabled”. This initiative followed the directives of HE Ahmed Mahboob Musabih, Director of Dubai Customs, who stressed the importance to motivate and support the disabled in the labor market.
Throughout the course, it was attempted to raise awareness on positive energy, the best practices in personal and professional lives, and the impact of positive thinking on self-confidence.
Besides, some examples of successful people with disabilities were showcased, indicating how they managed to overcome and turn their disabilities into a positive energy, motivating them to be successful and make notable achievements locally, regionally, and internationally.

“Focusing on positive energy can help the disabled to be more self-confident then make notable achievements on personal and professional levels,” Instructor Kholoud AlTenaiji, said. She also referred to the experience of Dr. Ahmed Abdullah Al-Shamsi, a researcher at the Ministry of Social Affairs, who was able to convert his disability into a positive energy and obtained a PHD, using audio books and numerous Braille books and research papers designed for the visually impaired. Five DC employees with disabilities participated in this course.

The participant, Maryam Haji Al Balooshi, Assistant Clearance Officer at the Dry Port, highlighted that the courses successfully motivated her positive energies, stressing that such courses should be offered periodically to achieve  their intended purposes.
On the other hand, the participant, Sana Bilal Saeed, Clearance Officer at the Dubai Metals & Commodities Center, asserted that the course greatly helped her to motivate and stimulate her energies, a thing that would positively influence the work environment. Sana also praised the role played by such courses to spread positive energy among DC’s personnel.
