The Corporate Social Responsibility Sector Organizes Second Blood Donation Campaign in 2015
Yesterday, Sunday, the Corporate Social Responsibility Sector of the Corporate Communications Department has resumed its blood donation campaign in cooperation with Sharjah Blood Transfusion and Research Center, Ministry of Health. The employees from all job categories participated in the campaign, in addition to Dubai Customs (DC) clients.
This Campaign came in support to the initiative titled “My blood for My Country,” which was launched two years ago pursuant to the directives of HH Sheikh Hamdan Bin Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai, Chairman of the Executive Council. The initiative was introduced with the aim of answering the lack of blood stock in the main Blood Donation Center of Dubai Health Authority, which is responsible for providing blood to governmental and private hospitals, the Thalassemia Center, and Rashid Hospital Trauma Center.
Within the framework of furthering the department’s social role, the blood donation campaign came as part of the plan of the Corporate Social Responsibility Sector of the Corporate Communications Department, which aims at launching the campaign four times a year, in cooperation with either the Blood Donation Center of Dubai Health Authority or Sharjah Blood Transfusion and Research Center of the Ministry of Health.
Meanwhile, the bloodmobile of the Blood Transfusion and Research Center is equipped with the most up-to-date medical equipment necessary for a blood donation procedure. Moreover, the medical staff played a significant role in spreading awareness flyers among donors and providing them with adequate information about the importance of blood donation and the benefit reaped by donors.
