Discussing means of cooperation between HR at Dubai Customs and Medical Services at Ministry of Interior 

As part of Dubai Customs’ strategy towards improving and maintaining higher level of services to all employees and customers, DC’s Human Resources Department is keen on continually looking for means of coordination and collaboration with other relevant entities to benefit both employees and job applicants at Dubai Customs. 

In this perspective, an HR delegation from Dubai Customs visited the Sharjah Medical Services Department of the Ministry of Interior. Representing DC in the visit were Khamis AL Mehairi, Acting Recruitment Manager, and Mohammed Farid, Recruitment Officer. The delegation was received by Lieutenant Colonel Hassan Ali Al Alili, Head of Support Services. 

The visit comes within the framework of Dubai Customs HR eagerness to provide better recruitment and medical check-up services for job applicants, in particular, customs inspection-related jobs; which require fulfilment of specific conditions, such as physical fitness, high security sense, alertness, work ethics and vigilance. During the meeting, the parties discussed ways to delivering improved services in a better manner and adopting streamlined procedures. It was agreed that Medical Services Department would provide regular medical tests for Dubai Customs’ job candidates. These medical check-ups are to be comprehensive and accurate. Timely, quality and efficient results shall be forwarded to the HR department electronically.

Meanwhile, Dubai Customs is committed to implementing world-class standards of electronic and smart services delivery across all its business processes and transactions. Hence employee medical reports are delivered electronically in line with the directions of Dubai Customs’ senior management. This mechanism helps a job applicant to move fast to the next recruitment process as applicable at the HR department.
The Human Resources Department of Dubai Customs adopts international standards that are applicable in areas of recruitment and HR services. The department aims to integrate HR global best practices and benchmark its business processes against those of similar entities to avail of their experiences in this regard.
