Dubai Customs receives a delegation from Sharjah Police Anti-Narcotics Department
Dubai Customs, within the framework of exchanging expertise and benchmarking in different areas, has received a delegation from Sharjah Police, on Tuesday morning, 14/01/2014.
The visiting delegation was received by Taha Al Suwaidi, Director of Customs Cases and Investigation Department, Dr. Sheikha Al Ghafri, Senior Manager of the Customs Training Centre, and Khalid Al Suwaidi, Manager of Support Services at the Training Centre. The delegation was headed by Colonel Ali Salem Al Khayal, Director of Anti-Narcotics Department at Sharjah Police, accompanied by a number of Police officers and other officials.
During the meeting which was organized in coordination with the Government Partnership Section at Corporate Communication Department, a number of DC’s operational processes and systems were highlighted, as every director explained the procedures followed within his department. Regarding the Customs Cases Department, Taha Al Suwaidi briefed the delegation about the Common Customs Law of the GCC States. In addition, he browsed the department’s operational mechanisms, methods of investigation, methodology and the procedures applicable to follow up on filed cases.
On the other hand, Khalid Al Suwaidi gave a brief introduction about the Customs Training Centre, its plan and activities and the training courses which are organized by the Centre for Dubai Customs’ employees. The Dubai Customs Training Centre is one of the most advanced training centres in customs administrations In the country. It provides special training courses to customs inspectors.
At the end of the visit, the delegation expressed their admiration of the advanced processes and systems they witnessed at Dubai Customs, appreciating DC’s efforts in protecting the community and contributing to the growth of the Emirate’s economy.
