As part of the mutual cooperation between Dubai Customs and other government agencies across the United Arab Emirates, the Technical Support Department at Dubai Customs organized a training session on “Radiation Detection Systems”. Conducted from 8 to 9 January 2014, the workshop saw participation of a great host of enthusiast employees from the General Authority of Ports, Borders and Free Zones Security (GAPBFS).
The training course was administered by the trainers, Mr. Mustafa Amin and Mr. Ahmed Mater Suroor from the Technical Support Department. The session’s main focus was to acquaint the staff and train them on how to use the radiation detector “Dosimeter” and how to read radiation dose from the device. The trainees also received practical training on dose readout, besides learning about the various types and uses of radiations.
The workshop included a brief introduction about the risks of radiation, health and safety measures, and user instructions on how to use and distribute the device.
At the end of the training course, the officials of the General Authority of Ports, Borders and Free Zones Security expressed their profound appreciation to Dubai Customs for organizing this program specifically for GAPBFS employees. The officials praised the training session as being very useful for the participants who broadened their knowledge with fresh information and practical expertise.
