ENEC Delegation Briefed on Dubai Customs Mechanisms for Stimulating Creativity and Innovation  

 

 

Dubai Customs (DC) hosted a delegation from the Emirates Nuclear Energy Corporation (ENEC) in a standard visit. The delegation was interested in exploring the best practices adopted by DC in suggestion systems and mechanisms to stimulate creativity and innovation, given the DC outstanding performance, and the numerous awards it has obtained during 2015, which amounted to 35 local, regional and international awards.

This visit comes within the context of achieving the objectives of Dubai Customs strategic plan for the transfer of knowledge and exchange of experiences with institutions and departments.
During the meeting, Hussain Al Fardan, Manager of Suggestions and Complaints Section, emphasized the importance of experimental application of feasible ideas. Al Fardan indicated that this comes in line with the vision of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, the Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai.
Moreover, Al Fardan highlighted the vision and mission of Dubai Customs, in addition to DC values relating to motivation, creativity and innovation.
On her turn, Asma Ahmad, Employees Relations Manager at the Human Resources Department in Dubai Customs, shed the light on the policy of rewards and incentives adopted by the Department to encourage and motivate its outstanding employees. In this regard, she referred to the mechanisms of granting bonuses and their types, and how they support and stimulate the staff to exert more effort for upgrading the functional duties, so as to enhance the working environment and lead to achieving more innovation.

The visiting delegation praised the suggestions scheme and practices followed by Dubai Customs, which are applied in accordance with a clear-cut methodology and strategy. The delegation also hailed the DC plans aiming at stimulating creativity and innovation.
