DC’s HR Department Hosts Delegation from RAK Customs Department
On Tuesday, 16 June 2015, a delegation from Ras Al Khaimah Customs (RAK) paid a visit to Dubai Customs' HR department in its headquarter with the aim of gaining knowledge about DC’s best practices and HR applicable systems within DC strategy framework aiming to exchange its successful experience and unite the efforts between DC and other UAE customs departments.
The visiting delegation, included Hessa Mohamed El-Noby, HR Specialist, Alyaa Hamad Saghran, HR Development Specialist, Hessa Mohamed El-Tenehy, HR Officer, and Amena Sakr Magdam, HR Officer, was welcomed by Khulood Obaid, Senior HR Specialist, Shaza Taher, Employee Relations Specialist, Ayda Abu Mosaad, Employee Relations Officer, Mariam Ebid, Employment Officer, and Sami Al Kiswani, Senior Training Specialist.
This team comprehensively explained in details the system used in monitoring attendance and leave procedures of employees, delay procedures, how to elect candidates in terms of models and test types, and resignation procedures in terms of notification, notice period and dues. The meeting, moreover, discussed other important subjects, including performance management, and the established procedures in its four stages, employee motivation mechanism, and employees' remuneration, models used in measuring training needs and their impacts.
Then, the meeting reviewed the method and mechanism of choosing and accrediting training centers’ offers to present training sessions in Customs Training Center, as well as attendance and violation procedures.
Concluding the visit, the delegation praised DC’s HR systems and thanked the DC team represented by HR Management for their presentation, warm welcome and fruitful cooperation during the meeting. Both parties stressed the importance of planning future visits in order to assure knowledge and experience exchange between government departments, generally, and local Customs departments specifically.
