Strategy & Corporate Excellence Department receives a delegation from Emirates Transport to present its expertise in developing the Innovation & Creativity Model
Strategy & Corporate Excellence Department’s Complaint & Suggestions section received a delegation from Emirates Transport to review best practices followed by the section, and the achievements of Dubai Customs in the development of the Innovation & Creativity Model. Welcomed by Hussein Al Fardan, Head of DC’S Complaints & Suggestions Section, the Emirates Transport delegation included Mohamed Al Tamimi, Director of Strategic Planning and Corporate Excellence, Adel Ahmed Al Hammadi, corporate excellence supervisor, and Mariam Amiri, corporate excellence liaison.
Al Fardan started the meeting with video presentation on DC’s deeply rooted culture of innovation, followed by a detailed elaboration on all criteria related to suggestions system, participation in local and international awards, and entering into strategic partnerships that promote corporate innovation in the organization. He also presented an overview of the employee suggestions process flow, mechanism to implement ideas, relevant KPI measures, rewards dispensing mechanism, communication channels, and DC’s key local and international achievements and awards acquired by its suggestions system. This included DC’s experience in obtaining Ideas UK Platinum rating for the 5th year in a row, with full score in the last two years (2013 & 2014).
The visiting delegation spoke highly of the advanced work environment that sees the highest levels of professional performance, and commended the close cooperation they received in relation to the system from relevant individuals during the visit. They expressed their thanks to DC for its constant collaboration and endeavour to transfer knowledge to public and private bodies in the UAE, and to roll out its successful experience in motivating staff and customers to share their creative ideas for sustainable development.
The delegation also expressed its admiration and appreciation for DC’s efforts in supporting innovation & creativity in the country, in order for 2015 to be a year of innovation for the UAE, in pursuance of the directives of H.H. Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the UAE, and the National Innovation Strategy launched by H.H. Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, UAE Vice President, Prime Minister, and Ruler of Dubai.
The meeting ended on a high note that all government entities should seek to realize the vision of our wise leadership, by doubling their efforts to create an environment that fosters and motivates innovation, taking the UAE to leading international positions in this field.
