Refund and Maqasa Department and Corporate Communication Department organize difference activities celebrating the Arabic Language Day
At Dubai Customs head office and in cooperation with the Corporate Communication Department, the Refund and Maqasa Department organized a variety of activities celebrating the UN ‘Arabic Language Day’ observed annually on the 18th of December. The event was held under the motto “Arabic Language and Science” in the presence of H.E. Ahmed Mahboob Musabih, Dubai customs Director, Abdullah Al Khaja, Executive Director of Customer Management Division and Ghanima Ibrahim, Director of Refund and Maqasa Department.
Dubai Customs employees and DC’s Kindergarten children took part in the event. A special corner was designated as a tribute to the prominent scholars who contributed to the spread of Arabic language and the different fields of science.
Sayings of H.H Sheikh Mohammad bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and the Ruler of Dubai ,on the importance of Arabic language and instilling it as a national identity were also on display.
A large number of Dubai Customs employees participated in the ‘ Abbir Bil Arabi’ (Express in Arabic) corner, showing their exquisite interaction in the competition of the ‘best expression’ in support to Arabic language as well as in the best handwriting in Arabic.
Dubai Customs Kindergarten kids had their share of the day’s events, partaking in coloring Arabic words and letters activity. The event also included a corner highlighting common typographical mistakes in Arabic, a corner for #بالعربي hash-tag for photography was set up and many symbolic gifts pertaining to Arabic language were also distributed.
