The Dubai Customs’ Ladies Committee received a delegation from its counterpart at Dubai Courts. The visit was aimed at introducing the visiting delegation to DC’s experience in empowering women.
During the meeting, the Dubai Customs’ Ladies Committee showcased their vision, mission and strategic objectives, as well as their most prominent achievements and activities that took place in 2014.
Maryam Khalifa Al Shamsi, Head of DC’s Ladies Committee, noted that women workforce display a team spirit and aspire for higher levels of innovation. She pointed out that “Some challenges require establishing solid ties to address them, in line with the directives of our leaders in regard to empowering and investing in women.”
Aisha Al Hamli, Head of Women Council at Dubai Courts, commended the role of DC’s Ladies Committee in supporting women leaders, furthering their contribution to the prosperity of the UAE. She stressed that the Women Council is fully prepared to cooperate with DC’s Ladies Committee in organising joint initiatives tailored for women in 2015.
Maryam Al Shamsi, accompanied by members of the Ladies Committee Nassim Al Mehairi, Moza Al Zaabi, Fatema Al Zaabi, Asia Al Saadi and Kaltham Mes-har, received the Dubai Court’s Women Council delegation, which included Aisha Al Hamli and Council members Mahbooba Al Awadi, Huda Abdul Rahman, Maria Mohammed, Mouna Al Mazmi, Fatema Al Zaabi and Noura Al Hamadi.
Women Council members raised the issue of challenges that may face women workforce. They also presented suggestions for better enhancing partnerships between women committees across government departments.
